Jeepfest “King of Jeeps”

Information & rules: (Register here)

The “King of Jeeps” (KOJ) competition is intended to be a fun, friendly contest between various Jeep owners. The idea is to have a good time and gain some bragging rights for you and your Jeep.

How the competition works: After you register for Jeepfest at the registration building, you will sign in at the KOJ registration table, which will be located at the history tent at Jeepfest. (near the prize pavilion). All competitors, including spotters, will be required to sign an additional waiver to upon KOJ registration. You will be given a scorecard which you have to have completed by 4:30 PM.

There will be at least 5 sections to the competition that you have the opportunity to complete at your leisure from the time you check in until 4:30 PM. Those 5 sections include (but are not limited to) Jeep quiz, trail challenge, rock challenge, mud pit challenge, and RTI & rig specs. Other sections may be added at any time prior to Jeepfest.

There will be two groups, a 35” tire and over class and a 34” tire and under class. There is no cost to enter the event however, KOJ is limited to 15 participant Jeeps per class.

The prizes for the contest are as follows (prizes are the same for both classes)
1st place: $150 4wd Hardware gift certificate & trophy
2nd place: $100 4wd Hardware gift certificate
3rd place: $50 4wd Hardware gift certificate

Below are the rules for the event:

1. KOJ is split into two classes, the “super stock” class, which consists of Jeeps who have tires which are 34” in diameter and smaller and the “pro mod” class, which consists of Jeeps who have tires which are 35” in diameter and over.

2. Tire diameter is determined by the tire specs on the sidewall of the tires. If there are various size tires on a Jeep, the largest will determine the class

3. All Jeeps must be registered and insured, as is required to participate in any of the Jeepfest driving activities. If a Jeep is registered, insured, but not “road legal”, meaning they do not have a valid current license plate, and (in states where there is an inspection) inspected. If the Jeep is not “road legal” they will automatically be entered in the “pro mod” class even if they have tires 34” in diameter and smaller.

4. Each Jeep is represented by the driver & the spotter. Only the driver is to take the Jeep quiz with no help from the spotter.

5. All KOJ contestants must be registered by 1:00 PM and must turn in a completed scorecard by 4:30 PM. Failure to complete any of the sections will result in a score of 0 for that section.

6. The KOJ judges have a right to disqualify any participant for any reason, including, but not limited to: excessive profanity, poor sportsmanship, dangerous, irresponsible or unsafe actions or equipment.

7. Each Jeep with get “one chance” at each section of the course. There will be no “practice” runs and no “mulligans”. Once the scorecard is handed to the judge for that section, the scoring commences. Each judge will score and sign the card for the participant.

8. Each section is scored separately and all sections are then added together to come up with a “final score”. The jeep with the highest “final score” is 1st place. In the case of a tie, officials will have hold a tiebreaker, the scope of which will be identified at that time.

9. All participants, spotter and drive must be wearing a seatbelt at all times when the vehicle is in motion. Failure to do so results in a score of Zero (0) for that section.

10. All persons are eligible to enter with the exception of HRJA officers. Jeepfest volunteers and/or employees of any sponsoring companies ARE eligible to enter. Final scoring completed by the HRJA events director are final and no protests are valid. (this is for fun folks..)
